Located in the lush green forests of Seshachalam Ranges, the hill shrine et Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala is believed to have been in existence evident by the fact there is a reference to in Rig Veda itself.
There are many more legends about the Venkatachala Hill and Lord Venkateswara in the Varaha, Padma, Garuda, Brahmanda, Markandeya, Harivamsa, Vamana, Brahma, Skanda and Bhavishyottara Puranas.
